Fair Registration
Criteria for participating in the Ritchey Regional Science & Engineering Fair of Utah held at Weber State University.
Districts affiliated (Weber & Davis School Districts) with the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) who send students to the Weber State University Ritchey Regional Junior Fair must have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their district fair or be otherwise selected by those districts to come to the WSU fair. The Junior Fair has room for 400 student projects. Taking into account the student population of our fair’s demographics, the allotment of participants will closely follow these guidelines: Davis District 200 students, Weber District 150 -175, and Private and other school’s 25-50.
Students (non ISEF affiliated districts, private or chartered schools) coming to the WSU regional Junior Fair must have participated in a fair whether it is their school’s or other fair and have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in those fairs. If they do not hold a fair, they must have been judged and deemed to have warranted 80 percentile of the judging criteria.
The Senior Fair participants not coming from an affiliated fair must have been judged in their school fair and have met 80% of the judging criteria. The entrance fee for these participants will be $25.00. That cost for non ISEF affiliated districts or schools will help defray the cost if they by chance are selected to go to the International Science and Engineering Fair.
A teacher’s award will be given to one teacher involved in the Junior Fair and one for the Senior Fair. Selection of the teacher’s award will be by a nomination process. Nominations can come from the schools or students or other teachers. A special selection committee will be responsible for selecting the nominated and deserving teachers
