What to do on the day of the fair
Enter the east portal of the Dee Events Center. Just inside the entrance there will be a table with volunteers who will help you check in and find your location. Please check to make sure that your name is spelled correctly on the program. Team projects may be listed under your partner's name. If you have problems, ask your teacher or one of the volunteers at the table to help you.
Judging Day - Monday March 21, 2011(6th - 8th grade) or Wednesday March 23, 2011(9th - 12th grade) you should be set up and ready to be judged by 12:30 p.m.
Awards - Tuesday March 22, 2011(6th - 8th grade) or Thursday March 24, 2011(9th - 12th grade) 6:00 p.m. in the Dee Event Center
Locate your exhibit space. Spaces are numbered.
Set up your exhibit.
Pick up a name tag at the information table. This must be worn at all times, so you may be allowed in the exhibit area during judging.
Judging starts at 1:00 p.m. You are expected to be at your exhibit station until it is announced that judging for your division is finished. Judging will be finished about 4:30 p.m. Each project will be judged two or three times, and some may be judged more depending upon the number of judges in each area. Also, special category judges may be judging your project.
The judges will be identified by a name tag. You should limit the presentation of your project to 5-8 minutes with an additional 1-4 minutes at the end for questions. Remember, if everyone in your group took 20 minutes to present their project, it would take 12 hours or more to complete judging.
The exhibits will be open to the public after the judging. Monday and and all day Tuesday (6th - 8th grade) and Wednesday and all day Thursday (9th - 12th grade), 9:00 a.m. - 6:00p.m. Students should be at their schools on Tuesday and Thursday and not at their projects.
The Awards Program will be held at 6:00 p.m on
Tuesday March 22, 2011 (6th - 8th grade) or
Thursday March 24, 2011 (9th - 12th grade), at the Dee Event Center . After the Awards Program, projects must be removed. Be careful not to spill anything on the floor. Projects left in the display area until the next morning may be removed and destroyed before you can recover them.
